This article explains what waste-in locations are, why they are important, and how to configure them in the Rio platform.
What are waste in locations?
Waste-in locations refer to the location where waste is processed once it is collected from the waste-out site (a waste-out location is a location which falls under your reporting boundary such as one of your organisation’s offices or project sites and generates the waste which is transferred to a waste-in locations)
This is a mandatory field required for reporting waste data in Rio, which Rio will request upon upload. If that information is not available, an unknown waste-in location can be configured.
All waste-in locations configured for your account can be found under configuration>account configuration>locations.
To add a new waste-in location, simply select “+Add” and input all required details for that site. A waste-in location is indicated upon configuration by selecting the “waste-in” tick box, as this will distinguish the site from a waste-out location.
