This article explains the roll back feature in Rio and how it can be utilised to remove data from the platform
A record of all data which is uploaded and removed from the Rio platform is maintained in Rio's upload history logs. This supports your account's data transparency and audit-grade controls.
However, users may need to delete or edit data in the platform, the following steps explain how to do this while maintaining a clear log of all records:
To delete data:
- Navigate to the data upload page you wish to delete from.
- For example, if you wish to delete electricity data, use the navigation menu on the left-hand side and click on Data>Quick Data Uploads (Desired utility)
- For example, if you wish to delete electricity data, use the navigation menu on the left-hand side and click on Data>Quick Data Uploads (Desired utility)
- Once you are on the desired data upload page, locate the file you wish to delete. It is possible to distinguish between different uploads due to their file name which can be found in both the transactions table associated with each row of data and in the upload log.
- To delete the desired upload file, select the Roll Back hyperlink in the row of the file you wish to remove
- Rio will confirm if you wish to roll back this data, select confirm
- Once this data has been successfully rolled back from the system, you will receive a success message in the top right corner of your screen
- This file and all data associated with it has now been deleted from the Rio platform.
- A record that this information was rolled back will remain in the system in the status column.
- If you wish to view the raw data file once it has been removed from Rio's transaction tables and reports, simply double click the file name and Rio will export this information (this can be useful if a file has been rolled back in error and needs to be re uploaded).
- A record that this information was rolled back will remain in the system in the status column.
To edit data:
In order to edit information in Rio, the existing file will need to be rolled back first, then an updated file will need to be uploaded once the incorrect data has been removed.
In the example below, January Electricity upload was rolled back, information was updated, and V2 Update was uploaded as the edited file.
Rio tip: For large bulk upload files where one row of data needs to be edited, we reccomend:
1. Export the file from the upload log
2. Edit and update the impacted data
3. Roll back the file in Rio
4. Re upload the new file with the changes (including any information which remains unchanged)
For single transactions, a user can roll back their single row of data and input the corrected information via the direct data upload functionality.
